PRESSURISED HOT WATER SYSTEMS

Unvented hot water cylinder systems are a modern way of heating hot water.

MORE

Unvented hot water tanks are operating at higher pressure than the vented systems and have additional safety features installed.

There are several benefits to unvented:

  • Operates at Mains pressure – Better flow rates, increasing shower and bath performance dramatically.
  • More loft space – There is no need for a cold-water tank, usually located in the loft. Unvented cylinders are fed directly from the mains as opposed to gravity fed open vented cylinders.
  • Compact Installation – Most unvented cylinders can occupy the same space, often an airing cupboard, meaning no loss of space and a dry loft for peace of mind! In addition, since you aren't relying on gravity to move the hot water around the home, the unvented cylinder can be located pretty much anywhere in your property.
  • Reduced noise in the system since there is no cold-water filling of the water storage cistern, and since there is no water storage cistern and the system is essentially sealed, the cold water is not at risk from contamination.

AIR & GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

Air and ground source heat pumps are designed to provide a total heating and hot water solution for your home.

MORE
Air source heat pumps
Air source heat pumps use heat from the outside air and convert it into heat which can be used with a standard heating and hot water system (usually underfloor heating or oversized radiators). Air source heat pumps uses a refrigerant circuit (similar to a fridge) to increase the temperatures to a level which can be utilised to provide heating and hot water for your home. Air source heat pumps are so effective they are able to extract heat from the air even at temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees centigrade.

Ground source heat pumps
Ground source heat pumps make use of heat differentials between the air and the ground. The ground remains warmer than air during the winter, and this energy is available for extraction by a heat pump. Ground source heat pumps use a refrigerant circuit to increase the temperature differential to a level which can be utilised to provide heating and hot water for your home.

Ground source heat pump systems comprise of a ground source heat pump, hot water store and the system used to deliver the heat to the property, usually an underfloor heating circuit or oversized radiators.

Green Brick Projects offer a full design & control package for underfloor heating for new build or retro fit requirements.

MORE

From a small electric matted system to a new build or retrofit wet system, our knowledge of optimal floor finishings allows us to effectively match the screed to your requirements.

UFH can work well with both conventional and renewable heating systems, so you don't need to change your existing heating system to have underfloor heating fitted in your home. We can also combine both UFH and radiators within the same system.

UFH will provide the following benefits:

Flexibility of room design – allows you the freedom to clear your walls of radiators giving you the ability to have your room laid out in the best way possible.

System flexibility – UFH is great for new buildings and barn conversions, but can also be retro-fitted using an overlay system.

Lower Bills and Safer Environment – UFH operates at an energy efficient 35-45◦c with a lower flow temperature compared to dangerously hot radiators. This makes the home safer for children and vulnerable people as well as saving you money.

Better air quality – UFH systems are great for asthma & allergy sufferers, as they produce less air bourne dust than conventional systems with radiators or convection heaters.

Enhanced Control – By having individual room thermostats it allows you to precisely control the temperature in each room so there is no wasted heat. From simple dial thermostats to digital time and temperature controls via your phone, you will have the comfort of heat at the right temperature, where and when you want it.

Energy Efficiency – UFH systems work very well with heat as both work optimally at cooler water temperatures.
